Why Parkside(Irving TX) residents pay Public improvement district(here after called "PID") charges annually?

  1. Not every resident at the time of closing or prior to that were explicitly told about PID by the Builder.
  2. This is entirely City of Irving's responsibility not of residents and PID is an extra burden on the Parkside residents.
  3. Parkside(Irving TX) residents are getting no return of investment by paying this. For e.g. Cabell Dr. took more than 10 months to get constructed. Entire road was blocked for construction and Parkside West residents had to drive almost 3.1 miles per way every time for that duration. Now Cabell Dr. is operational there is no traffic signal at the junction of Cabell Dr. and Belt Line Rd. City of Irving had been approached regarding this but no response/no action. It seems City of Irving is treating the Parkside residents as cash cow to just collect the money in various forms but no real return of investment of that money.
  4. Parkside(Irving TX) residents are already paying very hefty Property taxes so anything on top of it is unacceptable
  5. There is no clarity in terms of which funds go where? HOA, Property Taxes and then PID how the funds are being utilized? There is no clarity/transparency regarding PID and other funds.
  6. Parkside(Irving TX) residents are living in active construction zone which has lot of safety hazards for humans
  7. Parkside(Irving TX) residents live in an area which is having such a huge noise factor(from DFW airport) and the major highways. Apart from that facing extremen air pollution.
  8. No proper community facilities like swimming pool or anything like that?
  9. Very high HOA(in the order of $110 per month) which is adversely impacting the budget of the residents.
  • Does City of Irving want Parkside(Irving TX) residents to pay public improvement district charges for these kind of inconveniences?
  • There should be reasonable consideration in terms of either removing PID or lowering it. Apart from that Parkside residents want more attention towards the slow construction in and around Parkside.
  • City of Irving should proactively make it transparent how the funds for PID is being utilized with more detailed breakup being shown on their website.
