BC Transit to substantially increase service in the Westshore (Langford, Colwood & Sooke)

Currently in the Westshore of Victoria, BC in the outskirts of the capital, BC Transit makes public transit difficult for riders to take one bus in to town and back home outside of peak hours Monday to Friday 6am to 11am and some evening service. During the day time residents are to take two buses, or a taxi to a bus stop that is on a main route to get in to town and around. Which for small families, and people who rely solely on the public transit system can become extremely frustrating. BC Transit said that they will be developing a local area plan in 18 months approximately, but we need public transit to run more frequently sooner so families can cut back on greenhouse gas emissions and having to use vehicles during the day, and to help riders have a immediate streamline of two major routes the 48 & 61 which serve communities in the suburbs going to and from downtown Victoria. BC Transit has recently recieved funding for 20,000 extra service hours for the Greater Victoria Public Transit System including the Westshore which is only a drop in the bucket for making a long term solution for our community transportation system. This funding will go to serve students and people who work on Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt. We need more service to serve all of the members of our community. Please voice your opinion to the ministry of Transportation and BC Transit. Additionally the Westshore is growing so fast that there are new subdivisions that require more service.
