Let's demand politicians address climate change in BC by changing our province's motto.

130,483,500 acres – that's how much of BC has burned to the ground this year alone (an area equal to nearly half of Vancouver Island). Thanks in large part to climate change, it was the worst wildfire season on record for the second year in a row and the province is still burning.
While we're experiencing fires far worse than current climate change models predicted, our Prime Minister is investing billions of taxpayer dollars into a pipeline project that would triple the volume of LNG flowing from the tar sands, and the Premier of Alberta is pulling out of the federal climate action plan.
Why do politicians continue to ignore the devastating consequences of climate change already painfully evident in our province? Perhaps because they're too far away to see the smoke.
Let's remind our country that 'Beautiful British Columbia' is burning to the ground by demanding ICBC rebrand our license plates with a new slogan that represents the harsh reality – 'Burning British Columbia'.
We need you – we need your voice, we need your support. Please sign and share this petition so the consequences of climate change are on the minds of every political leader in Canada.
The signatures on this petition will be presented to Nicolas Jimenez (President and CEO of ICBC), John Horgan (Premier of BC), Rachel Notley (Premier of Alberta), Scott Moe (Premier of Saskatchewan), Brian Pallister (Premier of Manitoba), Doug Ford (Premier of Ontario), Philippe Couillard (Premier of Quebec), Dwight Ball (Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador), Brian Gallant (Premier of New Brunswick), Stephen McNeil (Premier of Nova Scotia), Wade MacLauchlan (Premier of Prince Edward Island), Sandy Silver (Premier of Yukon), and Joe Savikataaq (Premier of Nunavut), and Justin Trudeau (Prime Minister of Canada).
