Petitioning BC government premier Christy Clarke

Stop the construction of a tar sands oil pipeline through BC to Kitimat

The proposed route of the pipeline is through pristine forest waterways and mountains over 1000km. in length. It is to be operated By Enbridge Oil whose track record on oil leaks and pipeline breaks is dismal, their reaction to a very substantial spill in lake Michigan was "like the Keystone Cops" according to a U.S. investigating agency. The potential for a spill or leak is totally denied by Enbridge.According to leaked emails between Canadian Environmental staff Enbridge have consistently sought the cheapest method of construction with total disregard for the natural surroundings. Tanker traffic in the Inside Passage, a pristine coastline with a hazardous coast for shipping would be very high. Currently it is closed to any tanker traffic. The federal government is pushing out any opposition on environmental grounds and has just passed a law that will allow them to override any such concerns regardless of the source, including the National Energy Council. This all amounts to bullying on a grand scale. Please show you opposition by signing this petition
