Hello, we are the girls of Portland BBYO chapter #313. For those who don't know, BBYO is a Jewish teen movement. Our mission is to serve as the Jewish community’s most valuable platform for delivering to the post- Bar/Bat Mitzvah audience fun, meaningful and affordable experiences that inspire a lasting connection to the Jewish people. The reason we started this petition is that our dear BBG, three-thur, and friend Romy Rosen is being prevented from taking advantage of these meaningful and affordable experiences both regionally and internationally. Romy has an auto-immune disorder called Chronic Lyme Disease which prevents her from getting certain standard immunizations. Even with countless doctors notes excusing her and reassuring administrators and leaders saying that it is completely safe for her to be around others, her right participate in regional and international events has been taken away. I'm sure administrators and leaders in BBYO are not doing this purposefully but by not knowing and understanding her situation, they are discriminating against her illness. This is not what BBG and BBYO alike stand for so we, the girls of Portland BBYO chapter #313 urge all of you to sign this petition and support Romy to receive the equality she deserves because no one should be excluded from something that they love so much.
