Cinemas should state photosensitivity warnings for films alongside age certification
Cinemas should state photosensitivity warnings for films alongside age certification
Why this petition matters

My son was recently diagnosed with photosensitive epilepsy. When trying to find out information on photosensitivity warnings for films in cinemas I found there is no such resource.
I want to petition the British Board of Film Classification to create a symbol, similar to the age rating symbols, that means it is easy for people with photosensitivity to know if there is a trigger warning related to the film. At the moment, there are warnings placed at the beginning of films, but this is too late for people already sat in the cinema waiting to watch and leaves little alternative but for them to leave the showing. Photosensitivity doesn't just affect people with epilepsy, but can also trigger migraines. A simple warning alongside the age rating would allow people to make informed decisions.
By creating a symbol and placing it with the advertised age rating, this important information becomes immediately available at a glance.
