The first of the BBC's "Five Public Purposes" is "To provide impartial news and information to help people understand and engage with the world around them". This clearly does not happen during interviews conducted by John Humphrys on what is the most important issue facing the UK today - Brexit. Despite being paid between £600,000 and £649,999 p.a. of public money, according to BBC figures, John Humphrys routinely allows his personal biases to affect the interviews he undertakes on the Today programme and prevents the BBC from fulfilling this Public Purpose. As such he should be replaced immediately, so that informed debate can take during the remaining time before the UK is scheduled to leave the EU in March 2019.
