Transphobic Jenni Murray must resign from BBCR4 Women's Hour.
Jenni Murray is not fit to present Women's Hour. On p68 of the Transgender Equality Report 2015/16 presented to the House of Commons by the Women and Equalities Committee it was stated that the "BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour [is] highlighted as having “a history of treating trans people with “incredulity”". Murray has now openly published an opinion piece in the Sunday Times Magazine stating that trans women are not real women. In combination, these two responses indicate that she cannot be impartial on this issue, and therefore cannot front the show fairly or representatively. Futhermore, she states that some trans women are woefully unaware of sexual politics and feminism. This is not a trans issue. This is the situation for large swathes - if not the majority - of women. Disappointing few women identify as feminists, be they cis or trans. She must be asked to resign as this show is "Women's Hour", not "Cisgender" women's hour, and therefore cannot have a transphobic presenter.
