Listen to fans and TV license payers and their issues with the BBC's approach to the Eurovision Song Contest

This petition had 30 supporters

2013 will see for the 3rd time, the BBC selecting the artist and song internally.

This is all despite fans objecting to the procedure, with many pointing out that recent entries have not reflected the UK music industry and that the BBC is out of touch when it comes to competing in the contest, which is the world largest non-sporting event.

Fans are mostly unhappy with the lack of enthusiasm shown by the BBC team, which is shown through by lack of updates on the BBC Eurovision social-networking accounts on both Facebook and Twitter. Fans have repeatedly been left waiting until the last few weeks in March waiting to hear anything from the team with regard to the entry.

Fans have repeatedly formally complained about these issues and also made it clear through online forums and fansites that they are unhappy with the BBC's approach to represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest.

As fans, we want this to change. People from outside the UK are also unimpressed with the way BBC approach the contest and wish for more excitement and enthusiasm in the UK's entries.

People who feel similarly are not only advised to sign this petition, but also send formal complaints to the BBC about Eurovision. You can complain on the BBC website (https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/?reset=#anchor), comment about Eurovision in the BBC Trust survey (http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/have_your_say/) and explain to them why you are dissatisfied with the BBC and the way they treat Eurovision. You can also do this by commenting on the BBC Eurovision facebook page and sending a tweet to "@bbceurovision". We want to make sure the BBC finally see that fans aren't happy, we want to force a reaction out of them, which they have been hiding from for so long.

The more this is spread and thrown in fornt of the BBC's face, the more likely it is that we will get a genuine answer and reaction.

If you are a Eurovision fansite, please write an article about this issue and link to this petition. We hope that this petition doesn't just get signatures, but also gets a huge reaction from the Eurovision fans and pressures the BBC team to take notice of fan dissatisfaction with the UK entries.

We will add all the different reasons why people are dissatisfied below, just add your reasons when you sign the petition;

- Transparency in the selection process with regular updates by the BBC.

- Acts and song choices that reflect the music Tastes of the United Kingdom.

- A sincere attemt and approach to the contest by the BBC team with aims to positively represent the country.

- Honestly acknowledge whether the intention is to win or not, but still attempt a decent position in the contest.

Please sign and share if you want to see improvements in UK's Eurovision efforts.
