URGENT! TELL PSC NOT TO LET BBC OFF HOOK!!!

Mark Nadim
London, United Kingdom

Jul 15, 2014 — Palestine Solidarity Campaign have told me over the phone word-for-word they "dont want to make specific demands to the BBC because if the BBC say no, they'll look silly" !!!

This is the most ridiculous and feeble excuse for not pushing for demands to be met Ive ever heard, ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE FACT THE BBC IS CORNERED WITH 1000s OUTSIDE ITS OFFICES THEnLENGTH AND BREADTH OF THE COUNTRY.

It's certainly far too feeble and ridiculous to be actually true, imo.

As an ex union rep and negotiator with a two-faced management in a large college, I know that a fluffy non-specific approach like the PSC letter achieves nothing and plays fully into the hands of the blatantly Israel-favouring BBC.

THERE HAVE BEEN TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OUTSIDE BBC STUDIOS IN ALMOST EVERY CITY AND THEY "don't want to make specific demands because they might look silly" !!!??? It can only be a cover for other reasons imo.

THE MOMENTUM IS WITH THE PROTESTERS! NOW IS EXACTLY THE TIME TO MAKE SPECIFIC DEMANDS!

The letter they will be handing in at Broadcasting House London later today is moving and could form a feature article, but it is entirely worthless, and some would even call it a betrayal, as theoretically the main protesters' written response to the BBC, regarding the grotesque pro-Israeli bias in their 'news'.

If PSC fail to act decisively with no specific measurable demands and allow BBC to wriggle so easily off the hook - (they have so far refused to add any, like those suggested in the previous update, and below) - how can they ever be trusted and taken seriously again? In that case we clearly need an alternative protest hub if PSC insists on 'driving the protest bus into the swamp'.

I was told they want to talk "behind the scenes with BBC instead of making specific open demands" - Taking the momentum away from protesters and purporting to represent protesters in secret while not making any much-needed measurable specific demands!? Really?

It's the sporadic action of protesters up and down the country which has brought about this wave of demands for reform at the BBC, not PSC, but PSC wants to spearhead it all and hand in a blunt fluffy letter and settle it 'behind the scenes'.

Is that all you want from PSC? If you want specific demands made LET THEM KNOW NOW! And tell your friends!
