Why this petition matters

Started by Krystyna Boswell

The BBC, supported by compulsory public TV Licensing fees, is no longer impartial when reporting political news.  They report in ways that support the current Government, and this becomes clearer the closer we get towards the General Election.  They also give unwarranted amounts of air time to Nigel Farage, former leader of UKIP and currently leader of the Brexit Party, and to the current Prime Minister's father, who is not even a politician.  This skewed reportage sways public opinion in favour of the right wing politics of the UK, and belongs in the realms of dictatorship, not in Democracies like the UK.

The General Election is just 11 days away and millions of British people look to the BBC as a trustworthy source of unbiased reportage - but we are not getting it.

The current BBC Director General, Tony Hall, Baron of Birkenhead, needs to put an end to this political bias, and instead play fair with all political parties who are taking part in this election, especially the Labour Party who are most likely to provide a realistic challenge to the status quo.

Political bias by a corporation as revered and influential as the BBC is deeply worrying, unfair, and just plain wrong.

If political bias is not removed from BBC reporting, now and in the future, then it needs to be considered that the BBC no longer desrves the revenue raised annually from compulsory public support, in the form of the TV Licence.

Please sign this petition if you want to see justice done and political bias removed from the BBC's agenda.
