Sean S started this petition to BBC America

Audio description is a service that allows people who are blind and visually impaired to enjoy their favorite media. When audio description is selected as an option, a narrator explains what is happening on screen between moments of dialogue, allowing those who have barriers to seeing the screen to follow the story. British science-fiction program Doctor Who has audio description available on some of its platforms, meaning that the actual audio description tracks have already been created for many episodes.

Unfortunately, the service is largely unavailable in America on platforms like iTunes and Amazon Prime. There are many long-term Doctor Who fans who are visually impaired who have supported the show but who may not have access to this service. BBC America would only need to offer the existing audio description tracks on these platforms. The audio description tracks function as a language option on media platforms (in the same way that Spanish or French would be a language option). In the modern world, when accessibility is becoming more and more widespread, this would be a positive step toward allowing more people to access great entertainment.

Help us get the signatures and pass this petition on to the BBC.
