Bayham Council has plans to sell the Straffordville Community Centre after made the decision to surplus this facility. Bayham has been offered a grant for up to $250 000 (matching funds formula) from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program in July of 2015. This exceptional opportunity can rehabilitate our much-loved Straffordville Community Centre and make it available once again to the residents of The Municipality of Bayham and surrounding areas. Our community center, which is centrally located in the Municipality of Bayham plays a major part in fostering the concept of community development and civic pride. Not only does it host one of the most successful festivals in the area, drawing upwards of 6000 people to our community in one single day, it is also host to numerous celebrations, including school graduations.youth dances, community group fundraisers, bingos and receptions and much more. It is a common place where residents may gather; young or old, to forge new friendships and rekindle old ones.  We do not want the Straffordville Community Centre to be sold.  We want Bayham Council to accept the grant being offered and restore the facility to make it available to residents of our municipality and residents of surrounding areas.
