Stop Supporting Animal Cruelty

My name is Maggie and I live in Boston, MA. I've always thought of Boston to be more forward-thinking when it comes to animals and the environment. That is why I was so shocked to learn that Bay State College contracts with Aramark, a food service company with a dirty secret: Aramark uses liquid eggs from cruel, filthy, and unsustainable battery cage-farms. Battery cage farms pack egg-laying hens so tightly into tiny wire cages that they can’t even spread out their wings or engage in any of their natural behaviors.
This archaic practice is so cruel that it is illegal in the entire European Union and several states in the US. Other major companies like Unilever, Delaware North Companies, Sodexo, and more have made commitments to phase out the purchasing of all eggs from farms that use this terrible practice. It’s an issue where food service leaders, environmental organizations, food safety organizations, and animal welfare organizations have all been saying one thing – and Aramark has been doing the opposite.
Bay State College has already made the choice to use 100% cage free eggs in their facilities – So why then is the Bay State College contracting with a hospitality company like Aramark? By contracting with Aramark, Bay State College is directly supporting this cruel practice. Please, sign my petition and ask the leadership at Bay State College to urge Aramark to end this extreme animal cruelty and completely phase out the use of battery-cage eggs. Let Bay State know that you will no longer give them your support until they terminate their contract with Aramark.
