Recently, in this case, focusing on the period between November 2017 and January 2018, evidence in the form of videos and posts surfaced on social media platforms showing domestic workers and/or herdsmen maltreatment in different areas of Botswana. Unfortunately, there have been reported and/or unreported incidents in which the maltreatment resulted in personal injuries or in the worst cases loss of life or death (s) of either workers or employers.
It is the attempt of this petition to seek both the mentioned workers, the concerned employers, future workers and employers to resort to amicable solutions to come to terms with one another. In the event that peaceful attempts were exhausted and failed, it is highly recommended that both parties terminate their dealings without any form of coercion or violence.
This petition is motivated by the video with contents that appear that the "employer" is repeatedly flogging the herdsman in the bare-back. Find the video here, WARNING: Video contents are upsetting;
Please help to sensitise people by signing this petition as well as inviting your friends, family and people you know to sign it. This petition has the potential to change our relation behaviours at individual, community and national level. Help us reach 1000 signatories or as many as possible so that relevant authorities are contacted and mandated to act on behalf of the voiceless.
