Memorial recognition for John and Nina Manning, late of Bathurst NSW
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
For more than 30 years, John and Nina Manning ran the local council-owned public swimming pool complex in Bathurst.
Nina passed away several years ago, and sadly John passed away recently.
the new Bathurst Aquatic Centre, built on the site of the old pool and opened in 2007, is currently unnamed in honour of any individual or group.
I respectfully request that Bathurst Regional Council consider naming the complex in honour of John and Nina Manning. Other alternatives could include naming individual pools within the complex for them, and any tribute should be determined in consultation with Manning family, but a title such as “The Manning Memorial Aquatic Centre” may be considered appropriate.
Other public assets such as the Ian Macintosh AM Theatre, the Cooke Hockey Complex and Ann Ashwood Oval honour departed pillars of our community - given their lifetime of dedication to the swimmers of our city, it seems only fitting that John and Nina Manning are recognised in a similar manner.
