Stricter Road Measures on Northmead Road

On Wednesday, July 31st 2019, a fatal accident occurred, resulting in a young woman losing her life. The devastation caused by momentary negligence of driving is enormous, and many can never imagine the ripple effect this causes.

As a resident of Northmead Road who lives in view of the accident area and who was there that night, I am shocked that such an accident has not happened sooner. I regularly witness drivers speeding and/or driving through red lights, which in the worst case results in such accidents. My family have written to the council, yet it has been almost a year and no changes. It is my belief that a deterrent such as speed cameras, cameras on the traffic lights or speed bumps would ensure peace of mind for all crossing through and would stop a terrible event such as this from happening again. Stricter enforcements are a NECESSITY on such busy roads, and I hope that all residents will feel the same way and will help ensure that this young woman’s passing inspires big changes to safety.

So please sign this petition if you agree, and hopefully we can make this change finally happen!
