Remove Backpack Ban at High School

At BASIS Tucson North, a high school in Tucson, Arizona, students have been banned from being able to carry backpacks through the school. While students can use a backpack to carry books in and out of the school, they must stay in lockers throughout the day. However, the school does allow students to use smaller 'backsacks' or messenger bags, which can be detrimental to students' health. The reason for the school's decision was that this was to protect the school from lawsuits that could occur due to backpack-related injuries, such as hitting another student with a backpack causing them to fall over and break their wrist, etc. However, the policy has made school days unbearable at BASIS Tucson North, and the students want their rights back, in addition to the fact that backpacks are better than messenger bags for your back health since the weight is spread evenly across your back rather than focussing on one shoulder or in your arms.
