Many students and parents are unhappy with the decision to move to Hybrid Learning simply because of the change from a disastrous purple zone which many states have not even surpassed, to a dangerous red zone. The school has given no choice to students or parents. The abrupt change would ruin many schedules, study patterns, groups, and more. This is especially important with Comprehensive Exams just around the corner. The dynamic changes and imperceivable requirements that would have to take place to complete the exams successfully and safely have not been met. Above all, in parents' eyes, going to school in these tilted and unpredictable times and bringing a child home risks the safety of all of the loved ones around the student. A big part of going to school is socialization and the benefit of having students being surrounded by children of their day and age. In the said situation that the school has perceived, children will receive little or no social interaction even in a physical school with the mandate of masks and social distancing which are both extremely important. Many children, including my fellow writers, have activities after school that do follow safety precautions and require video-conferencing. Students would come home to log into the computer just to do more video-conferencing. During distance learning, many of the classes have been terminated. For example, Math, English, History, Elective have been shortened to 4 classes rather than the normal 5. The same goes for the rest. Overall, we do not agree with the decision of Hybrid Learning without the consent of students or teachers.
