As per education ministry of Karnataka notification to all schools , Kannada has been made mandatory second language for all students who have been in grade 1 in year 2017-18 and thereafter. This is unfair to kids whose parents have transferable jobs who are admitted to Karnataka schools in any year post 2017. A kid admitted straight away in class 5 with transfer from other state is required to give Mandatory exams of Kannada assuming as if kid has been studying it from childhood . We are all Indians and each state should not make its own regional language mandatory for school kids . If this practise persists , kids of parents with transferable jobs will never be able to cope up with school transfers and exams even within India .
This is a request to Karnataka Government and Education ministry to please reconsider this mandate and make Kannada an optional language till primary classes only .
