I am a student of History as well as a steward of history. While I can understand removing a monument put up during the Jim Crow years after all of the Confederate Veterans had died, but to remove a MEMORIAL put up by GRIEVING families is astonishingly, well...EVIL.

The preservation of all our American History is one of the most important things we can do. If we allow our history to be erased, we will forget who we are and will no longer be the Nation that has done what only we can do.

had Confederate or Militia solders from both sides of the family, and I do not see anything racial in flags and monuments and if it was racial in the past then it is not in odern senses as it is like this: a lot of people are part Cherokee Indian or other Indian and they cannot separate history bit accept it altogether and that is how it is for Africans or partial Africans too, or for Mexicans or any other people with dual heritages because it is falsehood to say thus is racial when the people are of dual heritages. This anti-Confederate stunts are like temporary fashion fads and are not genuine social issues...look at people honestly and you see anti-Confederate political stunts instead of lifting up their neighborhoods they attack the past as if it will change today. The past history in monuments and flags is not in purpose meant to antagonize any sector of society any people more so than Mexican War or Vietnam Or Korean War or WW1 or WW2 memorabilia, as the so-called Civil War was not for or against anyone but survival.

There is a time and place for everything, but the Confederate era and veterans and families paid their dues and deserve protection from political fads and mobs of anarchy/ The average person might think what does it matter anymore?? Well what does American foundations matter or does a new age anti-American , anti-Confederate philosophy in politics matter even less? America can only matter as much as the Confederates continue to matter. Without the Confederates sacrifices and efforts , there is or would have been no America as in fact the Confederates were and remain Americans.
