I'm signing because no human, no citizen, none of my neighbors (housed or otherwise, user of drugs or not) deserves to die for an addiction when we know how to help them. To know how to prevent the death of a neighbor and choose otherwise is cowardly, vile, and the result of excessive, reality binding privilege.

This is 2021 and it's time to help those in our community who are most vulnerable. Protecting our citizens from danger is what a society is supposed to do. This site will help do that.

People with the disease of addiction deserve empathy, compassion, and these sites have been proven to save lives. So much research on their efficacy has been done. The evidence is clear: supervised injection sites save lives.

I am signing because I have a friend who lost his 22year old son due to fentanyl poisoning, called overdose death. His son was not an addict, used the drug only occasionally.

Because my brother watched a man overdose downtown on the streets. Because we have the opportunity to save lives and need to take it. Because everyone deserves to feel safe and free from harm.
