The Philadelphia Phillies are a vital economic factor in the Philadelphia region. When they win the city wins. During the economic downturn between '08-'11 the city of Philadelphia was kept alive by the awesomeness of the Phillies. Between 2009 and 2012, Philadelphia’s GDP grew by 9.4 percent, ranking 9th out of the top 10 of the largest U.S. metros. It exceeded Los Angeles which had GDP growth that was only 7.5 percent, according to The Atlantic article. Ruben Amaro has decided against using proven simple math and insist on getting older players to make the core (Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, and Ryan Howard) look younger. His goal is to make the lives of every Phillies fan miserable. He has stumbled over his own plans too many times and the smart individuals of Philadelphia are tired of it.
Example 1 of 2,203,483: He once traded 4 young prospects for Cliff Lee, only to trade Cliff Lee away after he became a hometown hero that winter. He claimed to have traded Cliff to get younger players (although he just traded a bunch away) while many other teams also claimed he could’ve got much more out of that trade. The next winter he signs Cliff Lee, forfeiting a draft pick. He then claimed another winter that he didn’t want to sign any big names so that he can keep that draft pick for that year. All he had to do was keep Cliff in the beginning and they would’ve won in 2010.
Amaro should be removed because he doesn’t use the education of a 5th grader to make the team better. This simple fact makes educated Americans feel horrible and is causing city wide depression knowing that their intelligence level is much higher than a man getting paid 100 times more than them. Removing Amaro and replacing him with a sound individual will give hope to Philadelphians that if you are actually smart and try at something in life you can succeed as opposed to sucking up and just knowing the right people.
Get Philadelphia back to Awesome, Obama, and do the right thing. This is a simple fix as opposed to all that other crazy stuff going down in the D of C!
