In 1991 I restored 'The Mill of the Black Monks' by raising it six feet from burial by the Council. At a time a small faction of their officers were seeking its demolition! I then designed a scheme to reunite it with Monk Bretton Priory for their mutual benefit. Supported by the 'friends of MBP' who say it would promote local culture & provide facilities to encourage the tourism they hugely deserve.

But despite my scheme receiving the enthusiastic support of Cabinet, Leadership, Planning & Grant Body, I was notified by several Heads of Dept that the small faction had now moved on to sabotaging my scheme & replacing it with a £500,000 Visitor Centre. Resembling a row of Council bungalows! All proven, and more, when those Heads told me of 'raked' files' & recommended I examine Council files under Freedom of Information legislation. 

Since when the Council have declined me assistance with the Env Agency. And say GOVERNMENT funding is to protect their houses and not the Mill which has contributed rates and jobs for over 30 years. And since my colleagues and I met two Cabinet members & the C'cil flood supremo LAST Sept we've never heard another word! Whatever they tell the Chronicle! 

But I have a good reputation and believe my scheme can still be achieved if you would kndly sign my petition.
