Community Health Partnerships (CHP) is proposing the building of up to 130 flats on the open green space on the Finchley Memorial Hospital site. When Finchley Memorial Hospital was redeveloped the local community was told that the key sustainability achievements for the development were:

• Integration of the new hospital with the available surrounding open space to promote health and well-being
• Creation of open spaces for a range of community activities
• Planting and landscaping to enhance biodiversity and wildlife

This proposal appears to go against everything that was promised to the local community for whom the green space is invaluable.

The proposal includes provision of only 38 car parking spaces which would significantly reduce parking availability for both existing and future residents and increase traffic to an already congested area. Additionally, CHP are proposing buildings of up to 6 storeys high which is completely out of character with the local area.
