Barking and Dagenham drop kerb application reform

Barking and Dagenham drop kerb application reform
We the undersigned request that the dropped kerb policy be reviewed so that:
• It does not take away resident rights.
• It does not make the property less appealing for a sale.
• It does not cause unnecessary issues and tensions amongst resident’s and communities.
• It does not place resident’s without a dropped kerb at a disadvantage
• Those who were not fully aware of the implications due to mixed messaging are given a chance to reconsider their options.
• Dropped kerb applications be approved on the basis it doesn’t infringe with the reasons why a CPZ was established i.e. to stop non residents from parking.
• It does not restrict a resident’s capacity to install an electrical car charging point for practicality, ease of access and helping the environment with lower greenhouse gasses.
• It is in line with appropriate neighbouring borough’s that have CPZ’s and able to provide residents with the ability to obtain a dropped kerb.
• It takes into consideration that household circumstances change and they may in the future benefit with a dropped kerb for better ease of access.
