For those that know Stephen Woodson, knows that he is an outstanding person. Even those of you that know him, may not know exactly how much he has impacted those in this community. Specifically, children within the school system. Stevie has always gone above and beyond the expectations of his coaching positions and his employment. As a young man with odds against him, he graduated high school. Later attended Morehead State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, while at the same time was a member of the National Guard. Then he went on to attend Campbellsville University where he attained his Master’s Degree in Special Education.
Stevie is an awesome coach, son, brother, uncle, father, mentor and friend.
The administration of Bardstown High School (via Coach James “Boo” Brewer), has decided to force Stevie’s resignation as Freshman Boys Basketball Head Coach. The initial reasoning given was that he was “too combative with the officials”, out of control” and “did not represent Bardstown well”. How can a person with the background and resume that Stevie has not represent Bardstown well? Have other coaches been released for similar accusations? How did this decision come about? Who initiated the decision? Is there someone in mind for the position? We want answers and we want them NOW!
Superintendent Brent Holsclaw cancelled the meeting he previously agreed to have with concerned parents wanting answers. He claimed to have a family issue and refused to reschedule. That meeting was scheduled for Thursday May 11, 2017 from 2 to 3 p.m
