Kyla Castroverde started this petition to Philippine Animal Welfare Society(PAWS)

One of the first steps in protecting animals and creating effective cruelty laws is knowing what animal cruelty actually is. Cruelty to animals, also called animal abuse, animal neglect or animal cruelty, is the infliction by omission (animal neglect) or by commission by humans of suffering or harm upon any non-human. More narrowly, it can be the causing of harm or suffering for specific achievement, such as killing animals for food, for their fur or even their tusks; opinions differ about the extent of cruelty associated with a given method of slaughter. Cruelty to animals sometimes encompasses inflicting harm or suffering as an end in itself, defined as zoosadism. With approximately 65 billion animals killed annually for food, farm animals are the most numerous animals subjected to cruelty.

Animal cruelty can take many different forms, but the impact is always the same. Animals may not think and act like a human being, but they are also living, breathing creatures that were placed on Earth for a reason, just like us-humans. They definitely have rights to be protected from being abused and from inappropriate treatment a result of which they suffer. Animals are not material for conducting experiments and manual for scientific experiments. We must stop animal abuse, because they, as well as people, feel pain and mistreatment. Many people forget that animals are not toys and they need care. As a result animals that lost their homes die, because they can not live on the streets, or they are euthanized. That's why we must stop abusing them rather we must start loving and caring them and treat them like our family because, they do not deserve to be treated in that way. So, We hope you sign this petition to show that you support this issue. Thank you and God bless.
