To Protect Haitians From Trumps 18 Months Deadline

0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!

On November 21, 2017 Trump and his administration has cancelled Immigration Protections for nearly 60,000 Haitians living in the U.S. they were given just 18 months to either change their legal status or risk deportation. 18 months? Wow some which have started to rebuild their lives, started careers, started families, started attending schools, made the U.S. their home is now facing something that will affect them greatly. These 60,000 Haitians were granted TPS after the devastating 2010 7.0 magnitude earthquake that claimed many lives and destroyed their homes, businesses etc. As a daughter of Haitian immigrants, I feel as though this is a chance for me to stand with my people who are giving the short end of the stick in this matter. This is my opportunity for me as a Haitian-American to use my voice and let it be heard. I will not give up until a change is made. Where would these 60,000 people live if they get deported? The American Red Cross raised $500 million dollars to help Haitians rebuild after the earthquake and only 6 houses were built. Only 6? Crazy. Homeland Security Secretary Elaine Duke says "significant steps have been taken to improve the stability and quality of life for Haitian citizens, and Haiti is able to safely receive traditional levels of returned citizens." Like what??? No, how is Haiti ready to take my people back when their still finding a way to rebuild after not only the 2010 earthquake but other natural disasters throughout the years.

Haiti Coat Of Arms says : L'Union Fait La Force (Unity Makes Strength) and when my people are faced with a battle, we always show up to win.
