Hello my name is Nakiyah I'm from Monroe Louisiana, and I'm emailing you to talk to you please or someone in your agency. On November 29, 2013 my 2 year old child was brutally murdered by my ex-boyfriend. He was immediately put in WMPD custody and booked later at Occ. I've been talking and keeping in contact with the D.A. who was over the case. In April of this year he was convicted guilty as charged (2nd degree murder ) which is life in prison without probation or parol. I was told 2 weeks after that he was going to Angola prison for his life term sentence. I've even talked to the lady that was over that particular division who asked me to write a final thought letter to him which I denied to do. Reason being I didn't have anything to say I thought justice was finally served for my baby boy. 7pm Thanksgiving day I was informed that he was released. I signed several victim inform letters stating me and my family would be notified if he ever was released and I told that wasn't possible so I was comfortable. But instead upon his release I didn't get informed in any type or fashion. I've been getting death threats from him and his family all Thanksgiving night. I'm scared for my life and want justice for my son. I'm crying as I write this email. I was told by wmpd it was nothing they can do(although the murder happened in West Monroe.) I was told the same thing by Mpd as well, but if he come by me call them and don't defend myself. While Eric Nabors was in jail his family members constantly harassed me. It went so far as his brother and cousin pulling a gun on me(I reported it). His brother-in-law attempted to break in my house(I reported this as well). I had to move constantly due to being scared for my safety. I even moved out of town, but I was forced to move back because I was told if I were to miss a day of the trial I was going to jail. I'm confused to why this monster was released, and I'm scared if I don't leave again I will be killed.
