President Obama, please protect Dreamers' information

In June 2012, President Obama issued an executive order to protect undocumented young people brought here as children. Called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, DACA offered a reprieve from deportation, temporary work permits, access to higher education (without federal loans or grants), and the ability to obtain a drivers license. Almost 3/4 of a million "Dreamers," as these young people call themselves, took advantage of this offer.
However, President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to repeal Obama's executive order and deport these young men and women, most of whom have spent the majority of their lives in the U.S., have gone to U.S. schools, know no country besides this one, and call no other country their home.
The very information contained in DACA applications and that they gave to their government make these young people at increased risk of deportation. According to California Representative Judy Chu, "these children and their families provided extensive amounts of sensitive information to their government, including finger prints and relatives' home addresses, with the understanding that it would not be used against them. We promised them security...Now they are facing a nightmare" (Washington Post, Nov 15, 2016).
Rep. Chu is asking President Obama to protect this sensitive information from a president-elect who sees fit to deport these young people who have invested in this country.
I am asking that you join with Rep. Chu and urge President Obama to sequester this information beyond Trump's reach. Only he can give some protection to these young adults who will be defenseless again the President-elect's whims.
