My name is Cole Pickering and I am 23 years old. I was only four when my Mom, Stacy Weischedel, was arrested. She is a first time offender that was sentenced to life without parole. With the help of family I was able to stay in touch with my Mom through phone calls and letters. My Grandmother and I would make the annual road trip for a weekend visit to see my Mom in person. I have always enjoyed the opportunity to see her in person, to see that she is staying upbeat and to hear about what she is doing to better herself with her time.
Through the years she has participated in many classes and programs for example: being co-facilitator of Celebrate Recovery, over 100+ hours in parenting classes and she has kept a steady job with UNICOR for 17 years. On the weekends my Mom attends a Bible Study and prayer group called "Mom's in Prayer". She has enjoyed volunteering at Children's Day Events at Dublin, FCI and helping at risk teens get back on track in a program called "Choices" In addition to these programs she has completed her apprenticeship for Customer Service in California State and has her EPA certification for HVAC.
With her completion and involvement in these programs and the support system that is in place with family and friends she now makes healthier choices. I believe that she will be a responsible member of society. We all look forward to helping my Mom rebuild her life if given a second chance to do so. Thank you for your support and taking the time to sign our petition to bring Stacy Weischedel home to her family.
