President Obama has been hinting at a dramatic change in US foreign policy that would reverse the bipartisan policies of his last seven predecessors.

The passage of UN Resolution 242 (following the 1967 war) called for a negotiated settlement between Israel and the Arabs.  But under Yasser Arafat and later Muhamoud Abbas the Palestine Authority (PA). has either turned down reasonable offers of a two-state solution (under Israeli Prime Ministers Barak (2001) and Ohlmert (2008)) or refused to negotiate at all.

Instead of negotiated compromise the PA has turned to an international propaganda offensive. As a result a one-sided French resolution is expected to be presented to the UN Security Council during 2015. The resolution is expected to grant the maximum Palestinians' demands and overlook the legitimate security needs of Israel.

The very existence of Israel -- and the future of Mideast peace -- is threatened by such a resolution. Global anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism are on the rise. Now more than ever Israel, the Jewish homeland, must be protected from this action.

The US must cast its veto to defeat this resolution, a veto which has never before been called into question by the last 7 American Presidents.

We call on the President to continue to be Israel's reliable partner on the international stage. The United States must once again cast the crucial veto against a Security Council resolution that calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state within a prescribed timetable.

A MUTUALLY AGREED-UPON SETTLEMENT BETWEEN ISRAEL AND THE PA MUST FIRST BE IN PLACE BEFORE A PALESTINIAN STATE IS ESTABLISHED.
