Against the newly inducted age limit for the LLB entrance examinations(5yr and 3yr)

Recently the Bar Council of India has passed a decree regarding the re-induction of age limit in LLB entrance examinations. According to the BCI(Bar Council of India), those who are above 20 years of age and 30 years of age cannot appear for 5 year LLB exam and 3 year LLB exam respectively.

Thousands of students have been affected adversely by this law as it has come in the middle of the preparation year for the exams(Generally the coachings start from May and end in April next year). The notification regarding the re-induction of the law came on 17 September, 2016. Now the students who will be above 20 or 30 before July, 2017 will have no choice left, especially who have been preparing for CLAT(Common Law Admission Test), leaving them no choice but to look for another field, after spending this much time and money for the preparation.

This will hamper with the future of the students who are preparing for the LLB entrance exams and affect them grievously.

What we want is that this law about age limit should be implemented from the starting of the next preparation year so that there is no adverse effect on the future of the children who are preparing for the exam currently and that all others who want to prepare for the LLB entrance examinations and are above the prescribed age limit are well aware of the rules and can opt for a different career stream.

I care because the careers of many students is at stake here.

So please sign the petition and help us.
