BANNING AND RESTRICTIONS OF AIR GUNS IN SCOTLAND

This is to prove to the Scottish Government we are not docile, reckless, irresponsible uncaring and uneducated murderers in the use and ownership of air guns. The actions of one moronic individual led to the tragic death of the young boy Andrew Morton. We fully support the sentence given to his murderer but as a shooting fraternity it is unjust and unfair to impose unnecessary regulations upon us. Neither shooter, supplier, enthusiast, club or organisation deems this a necessary act. It is tragic that this took place but this DOES NOT make the rest of us potential murderers or hazardous to the general public. These are isolated incidents and the character of the person responsible does not translate to every law abiding citizen of Scotland where an air rifle is owned. All we ask is you consult all those affected by any changes in the legalities and gain a thorough understanding of what we are and what we are not. Democracy must prevail and democracy must include without exception the people who already responsibly own and use air guns, the suppliers, the members of public and private clubs, organisations, forum members, shooting staff, retailers manufacturers and magazine readers/subscribers and editors to fairly understand who WE are as already law abiding citizens. We are NOT responsible for the death of this boy and we stand UNITED through Scotland, England Ireland and Wales that the perpetrator got what he deserved, this however does not render us ALL equal in the atrocity this one individual carried out. We ask politely that we are consulted properly as a collective and individuals prior to any new regulations being imposed on what is already an unfairly scrutinised interest and our civil liberty.
