Loveth Romero started this petition to Bank Of America

To whom it may concern,

The closure of the Bank of America’s (BofA) branch in Yucca Valley, has the surrounding population concern for their financial future and stability with BofA. In early 2019, the BofA ATM machines located in Twentynine Palms were removed permanently. Another closure will devastatingly impact the second largest metropolitan region in the United States, to include eight cities and several military installations, the largest in the world being in Twentynine Palms. There is a personal element consumers count on when dealing with finances Even though there are services provided online, customers will not be able to get services like obtaining an instant cashier’s checks and money orders, unlimited cash withdrawals, safe deposit boxes, notary services, coin deposits, and face to face meetings. Knowing who is handling our investments develops a peace of mind, especially with the rise of identity-theft and other criminal activity that is on the rise. Small businesses, independent owners, private non-profit organizations and entrepreneurs rely heavily on these services.

After the closure on September 10, 2019, the only financial institution representing BofA will be a three-hour round-trip commute to Desert Hot Springs. This is unacceptable for local residents and business owners. The Yucca Valley branch stated BofA desires to establish a new location in Twentynine Palms, CA.  Below are five reasons why we are petitioning for a BofA financial center to be opened in Twentynine Palms:

1. According to suburbanstats.org, the total population of the city of Twentynine Palms has a growth rate of 83.2 % over the last decade. This rate is higher than the population growth rate in San Bernardino County.
2. Twentynine Palms is the Headquarters for the Joshua Tree National Park, which attracts more than 2.5 million visitors per year.
3. Thousands of military members and their families in the area will be heavily inconvenienced and they will fail to see the support BofA claim they have for veterans and those who are currently still serving our country.
4. The mission of Twentynine Palms Chamber of commerce is dedicated to meeting the needs of its community by fostering economic opportunity and developing a favorable business climate.
5. The BofA mission is to fulfill the purpose of making financial lives better through the power of every connection and therefore can help the city of Twentynine Palms.

Sincerely,

Loveth Romero and concerned BofA customers of the Morongo Basin
