Flavia Perry, an immigrant from Jamaica pursuing the American Dream, was sold a predatory balloon mortgage in 2002. She was told she was signing a 30-year fixed mortgage, and still has documents confirming it. In 2009 the entire loan came due and she simply could not pay. She applied for modifications with Bank of America but has been getting the run around ever since. After months of public pressure Bank of America is promising to work on a modification. But they haven't delivered on that promise. Bank of America (the servicer) and Freddie Mac (the owner) should grant Flavia the modification she deserves instead of going forward with another unjust eviction!
