Pedestrian Safety on Sarjapur Road

This petition is to appeal to Bangalore Traffic Police & BBMP to provide safe passage options for pedestrians on Sarjapur Road like signals at all junctions along the road with time given for pedestrians to cross and footpaths along the road. Skywalks are not useful or convenient for elderly or people with disabilities. Sarjapur Road sees never ending traffic and it's hazardous to cross this road at any time of the day.

It is even harder for senior citizens, children and people with disabilities and the situation is worse in evening/night time as no street lights and poor visibility. We keep hearing of so many accidents and deaths on this road yet it is sad to see the civic authorities not taking steps towards safety of citizens.

Multiple media report have not helped either.

My elderly mother met with an accident recently near the Fire Station junction while attempting to cross the road in broad daylight and suffered for many months thereafter. It was a painful time and I hope no one has to go through this. Please spread this as much as you can so that we can collectively wake up the responsible authorities to take concrete steps.
