Plastics are one of the materials found in drains, sewages, landfills, dumpsites, if not thrown properly, the garbage accumulated in the drain would turned into obstinate blocks, hampering flow of rain water – which showcase that plastic carry bags are found to be the cause. The manufacturers of plastic bags and supermarkets should be held responsible for cleaning up the environment. They should be at the forefront of teaching their customers proper plastic bag management and disposal while trying to use high quality bags that can be recycled and reused. But everyone must do their responsibility in throwing garbage especially plastics, to help and prevent further disaster.
Recently, a tropical cyclone Urduja strike in the Philippines and plastics were one of the factor that contribute to cities coming to a standstill after heavy rains. Citizens should behave responsibly and ensure that plastic bags are not thrown out in the open or in the drains. Other governments had been planning on banning plastic bags, more than 40 countries around the world have implemented on prohibiting the use of plastic bags. If not banned, the government should look for an alternative way to minimize the use of these plastic bags in order not to cause any more harm to the marine life, be a source to air pollution, and be one of the factors that could start a flood.
