All esteem European football clubs:

As Iranians longing for our human rights and freedom we are writing this to you to plea to ban the members of the football team send to Qatar for the World Cup 2022 by Islamic regime in Iran from joining your esteemed clubs. 

We are deliberately not calling the team Iranian national team as we do not see them to be true representation of what majority of Iranians stand for. 

As you may be aware the team undermined the blood and suffering of many who sacrificed their livelihood and lives in the fight for Iran’s freedom and democracy.  They participated in a humiliating show of submission to cruel power set up by Islamic regime’s president. In the eyes of many Iranians this disgraceful conduct was not only an insult to the spirit of sportsmanship but also a stab in the back of those who have put all what they have got on the line for human values, freedom and democracy. 

It is well known to many that a big motivation for this shameful conduct is the hope of securing lucrative deals with esteemed clubs for the financial rewards that comes with it.

We find the wrong characterization of sports as an entity that should not have a stand on politics a misleading justification for creating a fully commercialized sport. As long as there is injustice, cruelty, dictatorship in the world sport community should be carrying the flag of standing with right for standing up to wrong.

So please be the voice of Mahsa Amini and many other young and brave souls who lost their lives in last two months as well as the rest of the 43 years of the rule of the totalitarian regime in Iran. Please make it clear to everyone that sportsmanship comes with responsibilities and commitments to betterment of the world and abrogating those responsibilities comes with consequences.

Please ban the members of the team sent to Qatar by Islamic regime for World Cup 2022 from joining any esteemed football club for the rest of their careers.
