I am a leader in a community of social activists, united for change on issues that directly affect us. One such issue is the daily dispersal of chemicals via aircraft contrails into our atmosphere, without our consent. This has been a constant concern among conscious citizens in my community for some time now. However, not many people know how to bring about this change on a larger scale - and this is where we step in.

Contrails are artificial clouds that are visible trails left in the sky by an aircraft and they can have significant effects on atmospheric conditions. According to research from the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), contrail cirrus clouds formed by air traffic can at times cover up to 0.6% of the Earth's surface (Boucher et al., 2013). These clouds trap heat radiating from Earth towards space – an effect known as 'radiative forcing' – which contributes to global warming.

The chemicals dispersed through these contrails include sulfur compounds and soot particles which can have harmful effects on human health and contribute significantly to air pollution (Schumann et al., 2017).

We call upon regulatory authorities worldwide to ban this practice immediately, ensuring that our skies remain clear of these potentially harmful chemical trails. We demand transparency regarding what exactly is being released into our atmosphere and seek regulations that protect us from potential harm caused by these practices.
