The AR15 is designed to kill in mass quantities. It has no business being owned and sold to civilian gun owners, regardless of their criminal records or mental health capacity. This is a military grade weapon that has been the weapon of choice for countless mass murders, including the July 4th parade murders and the murders of school children in Uvalde, Texas. This weapon can be purchased online for under $600. 

We are asking as Virginians that our state leaders take action to end the sale of this gun in our state, and to institute a buy back program for already owned AR15's in our state for a period of 6 months, after which time legally purchased AR15s should be confiscated and destroyed.

We support the Second Amendment, a law written when it took twelve or more minutes to reload and fire a second bullet - we do not believe that amendment should apply to a gun that is capable of shooting 37 people, killing seven, in under two minutes. It's time for common sense gun laws and we are pleading that you take these steps before another mass murder occurs in our state. Time is of the essence, and our urgency and need of leadership is great. There were 220 Americans shot and killed over the July 4th weekend. This has got to stop.
