Ban Single-Use Plastics in Australian Restaurants

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Globally every year 300 million tons of plastic (mostly single-use plastic) ends up in our oceans, poisoning and killing marine life as well as disrupting human hormones. Nearly half of the plastic comes from restaurants handing out straws, plastic cutlery, plastic cups, anything like that. The earth is 12 years away from a climate change disaster, we are 12 years away from destroying our planet so much that we cannot save it. Please sign my petition, help me stop this and put my plan into action!

My name is Nadia, I am a 12-year-old eco-warrior from the sunshine coast. I think it is absolutely appalling the amount of unnecessary, excess plastic people use on a daily basis! All it does is pollute our oceans and kill marine life. My goal in life is to spread awareness about plastic pollution, encourage people to take action and definitely take action myself! I am willing to do as much as I can to save the planet we call home. My goal for this petition is to hopefully ban single-use plastics in Australian restaurants, I have contacted the Queensland Government about this possibly happening. I hope this inspires you to take action in your local community. One of my favourite quotes is "The world is changed by your example, not your opinion." -Credits unknown.
