Many owners are fed up with the short-term renting situation.  As per our covenant and deed restrictions, no business can be run in the lake (page 16 letter T), which was also confirmed by Covington Township.  Owning numerous properties for the purpose of renting, advertising in Airbnb, Our Town, Facebook etc., is a business.  How is this allowed?  This is turning our private community into a short-term rental vacation spot not to mention the overtaxing of our facilities.  Renters do not have the vested interest in the lake the way owners do.  

Renting also brings several other issues.  We are required to name all golf cart riders when we register our golf carts.  Renters along with their young children, who do not have a license are driving owners golf carts.  This could be an insurance issue, not to mention a lawsuit if an incident occurs.  How about the occupancy issue? I have seen firsthand how many people stay at one trailer and its way over occupancy.  That's because the rule of not making a shed and gazebo sleeping quarters has gone out the window. WHY?
