Tell Congress to Ban Private Ownership Of All Military Type Assault Weapons
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
Since January 1, 1999, there have been 15 major shootings in the US where 10 or more people have been mercilessly and senselessly slaughtered! The 3 deadliest, and most horrific, attacks were at Virginia Tech College in 2007, the PULSE Nightclub in 2016, and the Mandalay Bay Hotel in 2017. Of these shootings, 7 have been on school campuses, and military style assault weapons were used in all but 2.
Entirely too many completely innocent people, especially school students, are being mercilessly slaughtered in shooting attacks where military style assault weapons are used. It is time to put an end to these totally merciless, but preventable, 'mass murder' shootings.
It is time for Congress to pass legislation to modify the 2nd Amendment, to ban 'private ownership' of all types of military style assault weapons, including the AK-47, the AR-15, the M-14, and the M-16.
Additionally, the Republicans in Congress, who have been accepting extremely large amounts of money from the NRA, need to start thinking with their hearts, and not with their wallets.
Remember Columbine High School in 1999, Virginia Tech College in 2007, The Binghamton NY Immigration Center in 2009, Fort Hood Army Base in 2009, the Century 16 Movie Theatre in 2012, Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, The Washington Navy Yard in 2013, Red Lake Sr. High School in 2015, Umpqua Jr. College in 2015, The San Bernardino Conference Hall in 2015, The PULSE Nightclub in 2016, the Baptist Church In Texas in 2017, The Harvest 91 Concert (Mandalay Bay) in Las Vegas in 2017, Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida in 2018, and Santa Fe High School in Texas.
All these horrific shooting attacks were preventable, with "SENSIBLE GUN CONTROL "!
The shooter at Red Lake was only 16 years old.
