Ban Plastic!

Ban Plastic!
Why this petition matters
To the readers of change.org that are interested in the outlawing of plastic, I hope you are all doing well.
One group for banning plastic said,
“It is not worth manufacturing something that will be used in a matter of minutes, but will stay with us for centuries.” This quote will mean that we should not be manufacturing plastic, because we use it in a matter of minutes and will stay in landfills for centuries.
Plastic is bad, I would like to make a difference with plastic pollution because of the harm to the environment and how that affects humans and animals. There are numerous conceptions on continuing the manufacturing and using of plastic in high quantities. Also, business salesmen have found a cheap alternative of manufacturing plastic. Usually, plastic can be naturally formed from the liquid of a rubber tree. But this process takes longer causing businesses to not use this method of plastic production. I feel that this cheap plastic making industry has to be gone for numerous reasons.
The first reason why I would want the manufacturing of plastic gone is due to the harm on the environment. For example, we all know that humans have the mindset capability to throw plastic in the ocean, and on streets, but have you ever wondered what is the exact weight of the plastic thrown away? Due to many people asking this question, National Geographic has done a research and found out that we have manufactured and thrown away 9.2 billion tons of plastic, or to put it in a different perspective the equivalent of, 1600 Great Pyramids of Giza! Also, plastic is made by a mixture of substances such as Crude oil and Natural gasses, some toxins in these two substances are capable of substantially killing a person. A different example is that the plastic that we littler breaks down into microplastic over hundreds of years. But the catch is that the microplastic substance can have a damage on plant growth and function. Sadly, critics argue that plastic manufacturing is their job. So Instead of manufacturing products from Crude oil and gases, the companies can start to manufacture products from recycled products of plastic that has partially been broken down.
Secondly, plastics harm animals, this reason is inseparable from the first reason because the pollution of the environment can cause animals to lose their homes. You see, when the environment is damaged, living species have percentages of dying out. For example, humans have managed to waste so much plastic that in 2018 an average person would have thrown/littered more than 100 kilos per year! A different example is with Pandas. In 2013-2014 humans have littered uncountable kilos of plastic, and of course this affected pandas. Due to this inhumane thing the humans did, pandas are now on the endangered list. Many plastic users state that we can simply start to not litter plastic, but, humans already have contaminated numerous cities and forests, thus making this useless. Just to add on, many people that are wanting to outlaw plastic are actually still using it without even noticing.
One key effect that plastic threatens us humans is the crash in our ozone layer. You see the amount of toxins from all those plastic wastes, started to weaken our ozone layer. You might be wondering “what is the ozone layer”? Well the ozone layer is basically the scientific term of a shield that blocks the sun’s cosmic radiation. So if we do have a big effect on our ozone layer due to plastic wastes all of mankind will be obliterated by the sun. Sadly a lot of people just claim that they will improve the technology whatsoever to fix what is going on but, we might be already, too late.
In conclusion, I don't see why plastic manufacturing is outlawed already. I strongly urge you readers to say plastic in a negative way. For our future it will be beneficial in various ways that you might not even notice. Adding on, we should be hosting events that make you pick up plastic from the ocean or on land. Also, I would like to state that I strongly believe in saving our planet from those cheapskate businessmen. This way we can save the planet for you and me. So for god’s sake if you see a plastic bottle on the ground, PICK IT UP and put it in a recycling bin for our future.
Thank you.
