Ronan Wallace started this petition to Coeur d'Alene School Board

Mathia is a very unprofessional way of learning math in the CDA School District. Bugs and software issues cause countless students to waste precious time on non-learning elements. If we don't stand up and make a change, nothing will get better.

The problem with Carnegie Learning is...

  • The time needed to complete these workspaces vary from 30 seconds to up to four hours
  • The time needed to complete these lessons are unrealistic and stressful
  • Students still have other homework to complete on top of these repetitive and tedious lessons
  • If these lessons aren't completed, it is put into student's grade books as a missing assignment ultimately making it a zero percent
  • Students are also assigned a large paper book with the math website

The process below explains the corrupt system...

  1. While the teachers say you only need to spend up to 20 minutes a day practicing, for some students it takes hours because they receive little to no help at home
  2. If the student's lessons aren't completed, they get a bad grade

Ethan Hayes states the problem perfectly, "Mathia hasn't done anything good in improving my math skills. It doesn't do good with practicing the concepts and it doesn't go through how to solve the problems, just how to use the website"
