Ban Jordan Circus from UCCU Center!

The Jordan World Circus is currently using elephants provided by the notorious animal abuser, Carson & Barnes. Carson & Barnes’ elephant trainers were caught on video viciously attacking terrified elephants with bullhooks—rods with a sharp metal hook on one end that resemble fireplace pokers—and shocking them with electric prods while instructing others to hurt the elephants until they scream.
Jordan World Circus no longer possesses a USDA license, and leases animal acts from other exhibitors, many of whom have lengthy histories of animal abuse and neglect (such as Carson and Barnes). During the time it was USDA-licensed, Jordan World Circus failed to meet minimal federal standards for the care of animals used in exhibition as established in the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). When Jordan World Circus did have its own license, the USDA cited Jordan numerous times for several animal welfare violations, including:
- Inadequate and unsafe enclosures
- Failure to provide exercise
- Failure to provide nutritious food or clean water
- Failure to provide shelter from the elements
- Failure to provide proper veterinary care
- Failure to use correct animal handling
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now, and end their support of animal cruelty by refusing to host the Jordan Circus at the UCCU Center again.
