Ban Item songs in Indian Movies

The name "ITEM" is inherently objectifying. The obscene representation of women in Indian films has a physical and mental impact on women, reducing them to a sex symbol and sex object. It is in violation of the IPC's Article 15 and Section 509.
Whoever, with the intent to offend a woman's modesty, utters any words, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object with the intent that such word, sound, gesture, or object be heard, or seen, by such woman, or intrudes upon her privacy, 1 [shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term up to three years, as well as a fine].
Item melodies offers a space for female sexual objectification and exploitation by combining the patriarchal order of society with the joyful act of voyeurism of 'seeing,' as "the cinema satisfies a primitive urge for pleasurable looking."
I demand that no item number be played or shown in any language or genre of film that has a negative impact on many girls and women.
