There are so many benefits!

1. With over 30,000 residents, Ballwin needs a K9 unit for officer safety. This animal would be a hugely important companion to keeping the officer and our community safe.
2. Tracking in search and rescure missions for children and seniors
3. Heroin/Opioid/Fentanyl overdoses are a pandemic. These animals can help detect items than an officer can't sometimes.
4. Community bonding can really be improved with a K9 unit. 
5. Simply knowing that there is a K9 unit can deter people from even bringing drugs into our community.
